Agents built this industry. Somewhere along the way, it got taken from us.
We handed the big portals our listings a decade ago because they said it was good marketing. Then they sold our own buyer leads back to us — for a cut of our commission. Our own association signed off on it. Now billion-dollar brokerages are in court fighting for “private listing networks” that are only private if you join them and hand over 20–30% of every split. Everyone claims they’re protecting the seller. What they’re protecting is the toll booth.
Who’s Got Pockets started because inventory was low and agents needed a place to share pockets. It became something bigger: a free space where agents run their business the way they and their sellers want — not the way a platform’s revenue model requires.
So here’s the deal, carved in stone:
- Joining is free. Forever. Not free-for-now. Not free-until-we’re-big. Free, period.
- We will never touch your commission. No referral fees, no lead tolls, no percentage of anything. Your deal is your deal.
- You never pay for access — only for extra attention. Everything in the network is open to every member. If you want a louder megaphone for a week, that’s a flat fee, and it’s optional.
- Your seller controls the marketing. On the MLS, off the MLS, quiet, loud — that’s their call and yours, within the law and fair housing. Not an algorithm’s.
- Compliance is never for sale. No payment unlocks a shortcut. Ever.
Who pays for all this? Advertisers, vendors, and sponsors — the companies that make their money off agents. They fund the network so agents never have to. We think that’s exactly backwards from how the rest of this industry works. That’s the point.
